In Memoriam:
In 2004 the New England Chapter Board of Directors voted to rename this award to the Bill Riley Personal Achievement Award. Bill Riley was one of the co-founders of the New England Chapter, and served for several years as the first Chapter President starting in 1982. From the early days of the Chapter’s history Bill has been the driving force that set the foundation for this Chapter to become one of the most active and progressive Chapters in the Society. Bill represented the epitome of what the Personal Achievement award is intended to promote. It is for that reason this award has been dedicated and named in his honor. Bill was relentless, the disappointments never slowed him down, only pushed him harder, and he never asked or expected anything in return. Bill was “dedicated to wife and family, and all that the SCTE stands for”. On January 23, 2004 Bill Riley lost his valiant fight with cancer.
